Harvest Beneath the Pavilion    Heritage, Public Space

The MPavilion 2016, as a relocated structure from Queen Victoria Gardens, had little connection to the site's
resources and was in isolation. Therefore this project aims to extend the physical structure and the spiritual
significance of the Pavilion, it is better integrated into and serves the new site of the Melbourne Zoo.

Through research into traditional Indian market stalls, Pushkar Camel Fair,  the fundamental elements were identified as the extended structure, which include the supporting framework, canopy, and cultural carpets.
The bamboo structure inherent to the MPavilion itself will serve as the core of the edible garden part, which acts as an extension.

The Aromatic Corridor is an extension of the second MPavilion.
Visitors will gain an in-depth understanding of two representative
spices from different cultures.

At here, people can explore the cultivation and usage of spices in
Australian and Indian food cultures, experiencing the fusion
of cultures, also learing a series of easy-to-learn recipes.

Season's Passage, formed by interlocking bamboo structures,
allows people to study the cultivation methods of seasonal
edible plants within this extended structure.

Under the guidance of the instructors, visitors will venture into the
vegetable area to experience the harvesting process firsthand.
A perfect moment of intimate connection with nature.
